History of the Project - Synopsis Continued

Every aspect of the shifting city is presented - social, economic, political, and cultural. From the "wrapping" of the Reichstag exhibition to the city's first election in October 2001 to a massive construction and revitalization project taking place in the center of Berlin. But despite all this change, Berlin is still a city struggling under the dark shadow of its history. While the urge of its people is to look to the future

Among the many issues to reconcile is Berlin's relationship to its now growing Jewish population. The irony is they are coming from the former Soviet Union. We hear from those who participated in the design and building of the new Jewish Museum, and how the presence of the museum has impacted the reconciliation process.

There is no end to this story; Berlin is a work-in-progress, that is the underlying theme of Berlin Metamorphoses.
